Sport Reprocessed

Created as an internal project at Steelworks, Sports Reprocessed reimagines the visual language of sport through a study of colour, texture and scale.

The project explores familiar sporting environments from unexpected perspectives, moving between macro views of courts and playing fields and highly detailed examinations of equipment, materials and the human body. By isolating and abstracting these elements, everyday sporting objects are transformed into striking graphic compositions. Inspired by the idea of reprocessing and reinterpreting what already exists, the work introduces a refreshed palette and heightened textures that bring new energy to sports such as basketball, tennis, baseball and volleyball. This approach extended into the sound design, where custom foley recordings were used to build an original audio experience rooted in the materials and movements featured on screen. The result is a sensory exploration of sport that uncovers beauty in the details, revealing familiar games through an entirely new lens. The result is a sensory exploration of sport that uncovers beauty in the details, revealing familiar games through an entirely new lens.
